RADOV at the ICARST2025 conference
15.04.2025
The 3rd International Conference on Applications of Radiation Science and Technology (ICARST-2025) took place from April 7th to 11th, 2025, in Vienna, Austria. This prestigious event aimed to provide an excellent international platform for academicians, researchers, engineers, industry participants, students, and policymakers from around the world to share their research findings with global experts. Organized by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), the conference attracted over 1,000 participants from 105 Member States.
The venue served as a forum for discussing the latest advances in radiation science and their impact on various fields, including the production of advanced materials, environmental monitoring, medical sterilization, conservation of cultural heritage, and the development of clean and sustainable technologies.
The conference featured numerous insightful presentations, engaging side events, fruitful discussions, and impressive poster displays. Notably, Dr. Marta Walo presented on “Functionalization of Food Packaging Films by Radiation-Induced Grafting,” while Dr. Joana Madureira showcased her work through a poster titled “Ionizing Radiation as a Tool to Valorize Food and Agro-Industrial Wastes” and an oral presentation on “The Role of Extracts from Irradiated Agro-Industrial Byproducts in Microbial Control of Minimally Processed Fresh Food.” All these works included results obtained within the RADOV project.
